Chicks, Featherbeds, Country Life--and a Great Hubby!

Do you ever sit back and really count your blessings?  Sometimes we get caught up  in just the little--and sometimes big, problems that happen in Life and we can forget to just take that moment to just BREATHE and love and appreciate our Life.  Gratitude goes such a long way--and I'm really feelin' it tonight!

I'm still amazed that one year ago, I had no idea this little piece of paradise awaited me, that my dream of country life was just around the corner.  And now here we are, living it.  It's work--but I think it's worth it!  Always something to do, that's for sure!

Hubby got the chicken run done tonight!  Have I mentioned what a hard worker my husband is?  Or how good looking?  We met 18 years ago and I love him dearly.  We've certainly had our ups and downs, but I'm so glad we stuck it out.  Marriage requires work, my friends!  But that's a whole 'nother blog!

Okay,soooooo........."My girls"--4 Buff Orpingtons and 4 Red Stars, will be able to play outside to their hearts content and not be stuck in the brooder--which is not bad, but nothing like scratching and peckin' around out in the open air, sunshine, and grass.  The chicken run is 18 feet long and 8 feet wide and 6 feet high.  I'll be grabbin' my blanket and hanging out with them.  Probably sounds crazy to someone who's never had chickens, but I'm their Mother Hen and I feel responsible for them and want them to be happy.  I enjoy their company.  ;-)  It's pretty cool--especially since they're beginning to come up to me.  Especially Peaches.  Yep, she has a name and she always seeks me out.  She's one of the Buff's, and I knew they'd be my favorite because they're supposed to be very sweet.

Okay--enough about chickens!  Still with me?  Yay!

The feather bed   Oh, the feather bed!  Five inches thick, baby!  A Sink-into-a-cloud feather bed.  How am I even up writing at 1:25 AM when I have that awaiting me?  Oh yeah, I'm a night owl.  Almost forgot.  ;-)  ....I just checked on hubby, who just sunk into that cloud.  He looks pretty damn comfortable.  I think I'll be joining him shortly.  Surely one can't have insomnia sleeping on THAT, right?  Alas, I am plagued with that affliction occasionally.  Hmm....and a New Moon AND a solar eclipse today?  Nah, won't affect my sleep.  I'll be sleeping like a baby soon enough!  Oh--what feather bed did I get?  Got this one at Overstock.  Overstock and  Amazon are two of my dearest friends.  ;-)  The Feather Bed! ;-)

I just have to end with..........be happy.  Breathe!  Appreciate what you have in Life--even when times are tough.  Especially when times are tough!  Oftentimes, how we feel is all about our perspective.  Makes me think of one of my favorite quotes.  "Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at change" ~ Wayne Dyer

XOXO
