Why do I finally "pick up the pen" at this hour? It seems bolts of inspiration hit me at these quiet, peaceful hours when most "sane" people are fast asleep in their beds--and up at the crack of dawn. <shiver> I am so not a morning person. I like the thought of being such, waking to the sunrise with a smile, sipping coffee as the world wakes up. But no, this cat likes her deep, quiet nights while the house sleeps. And so it is.
So! It's Beltane! I'm feeling quite excited about it this year because I have finally achieved one of my dreams--living in the country! That means I can have my own Beltane fire to celebrate!
Who would have thought I'd end up a country girl? I'm "country gypsy"--a term I coined that fits me perfectly. I even have baby chicks that will soon be old enough to live in the fine chicken coop my handsome husband is setting up. Four Buff Orpingtons and 4 Red Stars--they will lay beautiful brown eggs. I'll be sure to be blogging about them, along with photos of my girls. ....girls....yes, I call them "my girls". Here's one of my Buff Orpingtons (my favorites):
Speaking of girls, I have a very sweet and beautiful Landseer Newfoundland named Kira. Dogwise, she is the love of my life. I've loved many dogs--but this girl is special.
As you see, she gets the mail for me. We have a very long driveway and it's her job to collect the mail. Now if I could just train her to get it all by herself. ;-)
Oops...definitely getting late, and my pillow is sounding pretty good about now. I think I could definitely get into keeping a blog--this is fun!
Stay tuned! xoxo
